Information Collection and Use
Giovanni Cosmetics is committed to ensuring the privacy of our customers. We
will only use customer information to tell you about our special sales events
if you choose to receive such announcements. Furthermore, we will not sell or
exchange names or any other information about our online customers. We will
not collect, share or sell any information that is not addressed in this statement.
Personal information and information about your order may be shared with a company
under contract to us for internal analysis and marketing purposes only.
Registration
In order to place orders on our site, we ask that you set up a personalized
account. During registration a user is asked to give their contact information
(such as name and email address). We use this information to contact you regarding
order confirmation and status. We also ask for your billing and shipping information,
we do not ask for your credit card number at this point. This information is
helpful, because when you go to "checkout", we'll fill out most of
the order form for you. You can also save shipping addresses and check order
status using your new account. We will not share or use any of this information,
and will only contact you to send you information regarding future enhancements,
sale events, etc., if you have chosen to receive such announcements. If you
would like to change this option at any point, simply click the My Account tab.
Once you've logged in, you can choose to edit your account information, choose
not to receive announcements, and change your email address and password. Remember
to click the "submit" button after making any changes to your account
information.
Orders
We request information on the order form when you are placing an order on our
site. Here we ask for contact information (like name and shipping address) and
financial information (credit card number and expiration date). The information
is used for billing purposes and to fill customer's orders. If we have trouble
processing an order, this contact information is used to get in touch with the
user.
Cookies
A cookie is a piece of data stored on the user's hard drive containing information
about the user. Usage of a cookie is in no way linked to any personally identifiable
information while on our site. Once the user closes their browser, the cookie
simply terminates. For instance, by setting a cookie on our site, the user would
not have to log in a password more than once, thereby saving time while on our
site. If a user rejects the cookie, they may still use our site. The only drawback
to this is that the user will be limited in some areas of our site. Cookies
can also enable us to track and target the interests of our users to enhance
the experience on our site. We use IP addresses to track only aggregate information
regarding site traffic. We do not collect and personal information via a users
IP address.
Security
We guarantee shopping at Giovanni Cosmetics is safe. We employ SSL (Secure Socket
Layer) encryption to ensure the security of your information. If, by chance,
unauthorized charges are made to your card as a result of shopping with us,
you pay nothing.
